iv of spades (ivos) is a filipino rock band from manila, philippines. their musical style has been described as "pop funk and funk rock by the local press. iv of spades has been nominated for several musical awards, both in the philippines and internationally. (wikipedia)
the band was formed in 2014 by allan mitchell salonga, the father of their guitarist blaster silonga. the sons of allan's friends were recruited into the band (zild and badjao) and a little later on, unique salonga was recruited to be the lead singer of the band.
it wasnt until 2017 when the group began releasing singles under warner music philippines starting with ilaw sa daan followed by hey barbara and then where have you been my disco. and on their fourth single released in 2018, mundo, the group started gaining recognition as the song became a hit in the philippines. they started having a lot more people in their audiences and they did a lot of gigs. they also received a lot of awards.
but on may 5, 2018, the band announced on their official social media accounts that lead vocalist unique salonga had left in order to pursue "personal endeavors". so currently iv of spades is only a trio. they released their first album "clapclapclap!" on january 18, 2019
